grandma's lap is so nice...it is big enough for both ella and me...i was sleeping...i always sleep when i'm on grandma's lap...ella was half awake...grandma took us on a long walk today...i wanted to go farther but when we got home i was glad grandma turned around when she did...the weather is still warm here...grandpa says we may get some more snow before our mommies arrive...if we get snow i want to climb into grandma's lap again...i like her lap

Dizzy and I were lazy this morning -- in the living room. What a treat! Grandma was sitting and reading there, and she let us keep her company. Grandpa came in later -- Grandma explained that he had been to a doctor's appointment this morning.
Everything is warmer. The fluffy white snow that was actually fun to run through has turned all hard and crusty. When I walk on it my feet break through, so my walking looks very funny -- step, wait, crunch-through, and step again. Dizzy is fine as long as she stays on her path. As soon as she leaves her path, however, because she is heavier than me she breaks through faster and her little legs are buried more deeply. I actually think I enjoyed it more when it was colder and the snow was fluffier.
Grandpa read us your message. It sounds like you are having fun. Certainly being somewhere warm would be nice. But from what he says you have described, I don't think I want to go to Vietnam. Maybe somewhere warm like Mexico. Can you take us there?
I think you start flying back to us pretty soon. Maybe only a few more posts until you are home? We can hardly wait!
i like sleeping...grandpa took this picture of me sleeping...i like my bed...i like it in the kitchen...the kitchen floor is warm...the bed is warm too...i like being warm when i sleep...that's why i sleep next to grandma...she is very warm...we cuddle at night...i like sleeping with grandma...grandma and grandpa let us sleep in each morning...as long as we like...sometimes i wake first...sometimes ella wakes first...when ella wakes first she jumps down from the bed and then jumps up again...that wakes me up...i jump down too...i jump up again...sometimes ella and i go back to sleep for awhile...we have a nice life here.
I asked Grandpa to take a portrait of me in formal "guard dog" mode. I protect the house from high on the stairs, where I can see dogs walking near and bark to raise the alarm. When I bark, Dizzy joins me. (She was asleep in her bed in the kitchen when Grandpa took this photo.)
I listen for strange sounds really well. Grandpa's computer sometimes makes a "ding" sound that seems like a doorbell, and when Dizzy and I hear it, we raise the roof with our barks, leaping from the bed and running toward the back door. Of course, no one is there, and we feel a little silly, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
Grandpa says that temperatures outside are warming up, so perhaps we can go on a longer walk this weekend.
Auntie Em took this picture, and I'm a little out of focus. But it's okay.
I was kind of restless last night, moving from place to place. Dizzy on the other hand had a nice warm, tight spot between G&G and moved hardly at all. I did overhear Grandpa say this morning that he thinks he has a hole in his back from where Dizzy stretched and poked a toenail into him.
It is still awfully cold here. I'm trying to walk on two legs, which is not fun at all. Even Dizzy comes in limping a bit from the cold. I hope it warms up soon.
G&G and Auntie Em stayed up late last night celebrating something called "New Year's Eve." Not me. And not Dizzy. We found a pair of comfortable pillows on G&G's bed and snoozed right through the whole thing. This morning I saw a big, empty bottle and three strange-looking glasses on the counter, so something must have happened.
It was bitterly cold this morning, so I ran outside to do my business and then right back in. Auntie Em actually ran around the lake. She's crazy! Auntie Em leaves today. I will miss her. She has given me lots of cuddles, even when I wasn't in a particularly cuddly mood. She also gives Dizzy cuddles, but she always wants them.
Now only G&G remain with us. We had a slow day today, although both Grandma and Grandpa threw the ball for me a couple times. Before she left Auntie Em took some pictures of me, but I heard Grandpa say that most of them were out of focus. I think he will let me use one of them, maybe when I write tomorrow.
